You have the Power to Make a Difference to Survivors Around The Globe

By donating now, you can be a part of Lotus Circle International’s continuing efforts to build a sustainable trauma recovery program for staff and survivors of trafficking, exploitation and abuse throughout the world.

This year (2023) we are collaborating with Dark Bali, an NGO working in Indonesia to strengthen and equip those on the front lines of abolition work in Indonesia. Their role is to organize and bring much needed resources to increase the capacity of individuals and organizations fighting human trafficking in Indonesia.

The “Integrative Somatic Expressive Arts for Trauma and Trafficking” training is a Certificate Program designed and offered by Lotus Circle International and proposed for Dark Bali organization and their beneficiaries. This program is designed to be a key component for the Dark Bali programs by providing their beneficiaries (NGO staff serving survivors) with a clinically effective, psycho-physiologicaly based mental health approach to trauma-informed care in Indonesia. This will help to fill an important gap in education and services for this in need.

The project will cost around $1000. per participant, and covers the entire 18 month (3 module) training program from the beginning to their certification. Please consider sponsoring a counselor.

It is no small feat to organize, fund, and deliver these cutting edge trainings to countries such as Indonesia, Nepal, Uganda, and India. These areas are very underserved, under-resourced, and in great need of trauma-informed trainings. Lotus Circle International sees the need and hears the call! Please help us by making a donation.

There are only a handful of organizations internationally who focus on mental health and modern slavery. The United Nations (UN) touts trafficking as the third largest international criminal industry, drawing in an estimated US$150 billion in global revenue annually (ILO, 2014). Despite the global issue of human slavery, most anti-trafficking organizations only focus on practical solutions through talk therapy in their counseling programs, and lack the essential knowledge and training in trauma. Treatment plans are often unstructured in many of the anti-trafficking shelters, creating many challenges in the recovery process, including unsuccessful reintegration for the survivors.
